Navatman brings about a performance opportunity to students of all levels/ages within tristate area within the heart of NYC. The idea is to get experience in small and intimate spaces while being in a comfortable environment!

Wonder how young children transform into budding performers?
This year’s student showcase is ‘Parampara,’ a step-by-step progression of how our students evolve and blossom into performers, capable enough to commence a career in this field of Indian Classical Dance and Music.
Using a lecture demonstration style, the students highlight how the Navatman technique is taught level by level and the meaning and intention behind the pieces they learn to give the audience a deeper context into the world of Indian performing arts.
Summer Camp 2018/Adult Intensive
Summer camp: July 16 - July 27 (10AM - 5PM)
Adult intensive: July 16 - July 27, full day (10AM - 4PM)
July 31 - August 11, half day (11AM - 2PM)
Ages 6 - adult
A full day camp from 10AM - 5PM, the Navatman summer camp covers body conditioning and strength, yoga, bharatanatyam, kathak, vocals and theater.
For adults, the intensive is a full day workout and includes theory, bhedas, abhinaya, advanced bharatanatyam, and introductory level kathak.
Analysis of funding for Indian classical musicians and dancers
An ongoing project by Rasika Kumar of Abhinaya Dance Company, Nadhi Thekkek of Nava Dance Theatre, and Sahasra Sambamoorthi of Navatman Dance, this survey is to pinpoint funding sources for Indian classical musicians and dancers.
